Concert and football (soccer) game
I went to a concert with my host mother’s daughter, Joana. We saw Karen Mukupa, a Danish hip-hop/reggae artist, in
The hike up Ben Lomond (Scotland)
I actually made it all the way to the top, over 3oooft up.
It was an awesome experience.
Rosslyn Chapel (Scotland)
Rosslyn Chapel is a 15th-century church. It was the setting for the book (which was made into a movie) The Da Vinci Code.
Scotland: Hills, Rainbows, and Ponds
On the second day in Edinburgh, we had golf lessons. I was pretty good at putting but not that great at the distance drivers. The Wii hasn’t taught me anything, lol.
After the golf lessons, some classmates and I went for a walk and came across this pond filled with beautiful swans.
Did I mention we saw a rainbow.
EDINBUGRH, SCOTLAND
I spent an amazing week in Scotland from October 2-7. After two flights, from Copenhagen then to Stockholm (Sweden) then from Stockholm to Edinburgh, my Scottish adventure began.
After checking intot the hotel and grabbing a quick lunch from Subway, my class and I visited Edinburgh Castle. The castle is on a huge hill so I got a great view of the city from inside.
At the top of Round Tower
A friend and I visited the Round Tower and went all the way to the top for the awesome view.
Canal Tour
Elisabeth and I went on a Canal tour along the harbor in Copenhagen. The day on the water was beautiful.
Introduction to the City
One my second day in Copenhagen, my host mother offered to ride the train with my to DIS so I wouldn’t be lost. After an introduction ceremony, we were broken up into groups for a scavengere hunt. Each stop had a DIS professor who gave you a brief lesson on the area of the city you were in.
First we stopped a the Parilment building. We learned some brief history about Denmark and its political system.
Next stop was the Royal Palace.
This is where the Queen lives.
And we saw the Opera House
Then we took a harbor bus.
